"OPERATION BALKANS: YOUNG PEOPLE TAKE ACTION"

From 10 March to 20 August 2000

Between April and June 1999, ten young people from the Geneva Red Cross mobilized to set up an operation to help victims of the Balkans conflict. Thanks to the support given by 800 volunteer workers, 450 tonnes of relief supplies (food, hygiene items and clothing) were collected, dispatched and distributed on the spot. The exhibition "Operation Balkans: Young people take action" gives a voice to these young volunteers and illustrates their humanitarian experiences.
